Cameleon has commissioned a solvent recycling machine – Uniram900 EP2 which is used to clean and recycle our waste solvent. The waste solvent produced is from our manufacturing process where solvent is used to clean our stainless manufacturing vessels. Previously the solvent used for cleaning was collected and stored for removal by a waste disposal company. Now the solvent used for cleaning is transferred to 200L drums where the residue is allowed to settle then pumped through the solvent recycling machine to clean it and transfer it to 200L. The recycled solvent is used in the manufacturing area to clean manufacturing vessels and equipment.

In July, Managing Director Colin Sanfilippo visited the site of the 2010 section of the ongoing refurbishment of the Kalgoorlie Pipeline. Cameleon have been involved with the project since 1995, supplying Ceramiflex which is used to coat the exterior surface of the pipe. The refurbishment project which the Water Corporation has undertaken involves relining the internal cement lining of the pipe. Every year a section of pipe, ranging from 15-20km, is selected for refurbishment. More information about Ceramiflex and the Kalgoorlie pipeline can be found in the ‘Projects’ section of this site.
The 2010 project involved 15.89 km of pipe between Kalgoorlie and Coolgardie.

4. During the visit to site Colin also, inspected a section of pipe which was refurbished and coated with Ceramiflex in 1999. The coating integrity was excellent considering the exposure to harsh environment for more than 10 years.
Below are photographs taken of the pipe section coated in 1999

5.Mandurah Entrance Road Project: One of Toll customers, Universal Sealants has been involved in the new Mandurah Entrance Road Project currently being completed by SGA. Universal Sealants have applied their Enduroshield Anti Graffiti products, which Cameleon manufactures, to concrete abutments either side of the railway line. The concrete walls, in some areas in excess of 8m in height, were designed by an artist to feature colours and patterns that capture the eye of commuters. The project is due for completion early in October.
